Mark D. Murphy formed The Murphy Law Firm. in 1995 after 10 years with a downtown Kansas City, Missouri law firm. Other than a stint with a large regional law firm he has operated The Murphy Law Firm for 25 years. Mark obtained his J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, with distinction, where he was a member and business editor of the Law Review. He obtained his B.S. in Business, with an emphasis on finance, from Truman State University.
Mark and his wife Susan reside in Overland Park, Kansas, and are the parents of twin sons both of whom are clerking for the firm. Mark and Susan are the founders of It's A Racquet, an annual event benefitting local charities in mental health and suicide prevention. In Mark's spare time, he enjoys tennis (following his retirement from competitive racquetball as an E-Force sponsored player), golf, pickle ball, Sporting KC Soccer, and is an avid reader.
Kelsey has been working in the legal field since 2014 and has been at The Murphy Law Firm since 2018. Prior to that time, Kelsey obtained her associates degree in Applied Science with Legal Emphasis from JCCC. Following graduation, she started working as a legal secretary and was quickly promoted to a paralegal in a downtown Kansas City law firm. Subsequent to that opportunity, she was a paralegal in an Overland Park law firm. She has previous legal experience in personal injury, defense workers’ compensation, and litigation. During her time at The Murphy Law Firm, Kelsey has worked extensively in business law and transactions, business disputes, jury trial, organization of entities, and estate planning.
Kelsey, resides in Johnson County, Kansas. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and getting creative with interior design.
